PLEASE READ THESE TERMS CAREFULLY BEFORE DOWNLOADING, ACCESSING, OR USING THE GLOBAL TRUSTED TECH STANDARD (“xGTT”). BY CLICKING “I AGREE,” OR BY DOWNLOADING, ACCESSING, OR USING xGTT OR ANY RELATED MATERIALS, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS OF USE. If you download, access, or use xGTT on behalf of a company, government, or other organization, you represent and warrant that you have authority to bind that organization to these terms, and “Evaluator” and “you” include both you and that organization. If you do not agree to these terms, or do not have such authority, do not download, access, or use xGTT.
1. About xGTT. The Global Trusted Tech Standard, or xGTT, is an open standard published by the Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy at Purdue (the “Krach Institute”) for use by independent third-party evaluators (“Evaluators”) in assessing governments, companies, and other organizations (“Evaluated Entities”). xGTT is designed to support fact-based, documented evaluations, and Evaluators are expected to apply the xGTT criteria in full, consistent with its published methodology.
2. Independence of Evaluations; No Endorsement. Each Evaluator conducts its evaluations independently. Purdue University, the Krach Institute, the Purdue Research Foundation, and their respective trustees, directors, managers, officers, employees, contractors, agents, subsidiaries, and affiliates (collectively, the “Purdue Parties”) do not conduct, review, verify, approve, or endorse, and are not responsible for, any evaluation, rating, or score produced by any Evaluator. Evaluators must not state or imply that any Purdue Party has sponsored, certified, or endorsed their evaluations.
3. Evaluator Responsibility and Indemnification. By using xGTT, each Evaluator agrees to apply the xGTT standard in its entirety and accepts sole responsibility for its evaluations and for any claim by any Evaluated Entity or other third party relating to them. If an Evaluator uses any artificial intelligence, machine learning, large language model, or other automated tool or service provided by a third party (each, a “Third-Party AI Tool”) to conduct, assist with, or generate any part of an evaluation, the Evaluator does so at its own risk and remains solely responsible for verifying the accuracy, completeness, and lawfulness of all resulting outputs, evaluations, ratings, and scores, and for complying with the terms applicable to the Third-Party AI Tool, including any terms relating to the confidentiality and protection of data input into it. The Purdue Parties do not provide, select, review, or endorse, and are not responsible for, any Third-Party AI Tool or its outputs. Each Evaluator is solely responsible for identifying, collecting, accessing, downloading, and using any documents, data, websites, or other information or materials used in connection with an evaluation (“Source Materials”), including for obtaining any rights, permissions, or consents required to access or use them and for complying with all applicable laws and third-party terms in doing so. The Purdue Parties do not provide, select, review, or verify, and have no responsibility or liability for, any Source Materials or their content, including their accuracy, completeness, currency, or lawfulness. Each Evaluator will indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Purdue Parties from and against all claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from its evaluations, its use of xGTT, its use of any Third-Party AI Tool, its collection or use of any Source Materials, or any failure to apply xGTT in full.
4. Disclaimer of Warranties. xGTT AND ALL RELATED MATERIALS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” THE PURDUE PARTIES EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. xGTT, AND ANY EVALUATION MADE USING IT, IS NOT LEGAL, FINANCIAL, INVESTMENT, OR OTHER PROFESSIONAL ADVICE.
5. Limitation of Liability. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NO PURDUE PARTY WILL BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF REPUTATION, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS, ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO XGTT, ITS USE, OR ANY EVALUATION MADE USING IT, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
6. License and Intellectual Property. xGTT is © 2026 Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy at Purdue and is made available for use at no cost, subject to these terms. Subject to an Evaluator’s continued compliance with these terms, the Krach Institute grants each Evaluator a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and display xGTT solely to conduct evaluations of Evaluated Entities and to publish the resulting evaluations, ratings, and scores, provided that each copy or excerpt of xGTT retains all copyright and other proprietary notices and disclaimers and identifies the version applied. Evaluators may not: (a) sell, license, rent, or otherwise commercialize xGTT itself, or charge any fee for access to xGTT (as distinct from fees for an Evaluator’s own evaluation services); (b) remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notice or disclaimers; (c) apply only selected portions of xGTT, or alter its criteria, weightings, or methodology, while describing the results as xGTT evaluations, ratings, or scores; (d) use xGTT or any evaluation made using it in violation of applicable law, including laws governing defamation, privacy, export control, and sanctions; or (e) use xGTT in any manner that states or implies sponsorship, certification, or endorsement by any Purdue Party. Modified versions may not be identified as “xGTT,” and ratings produced using a modified version may not be described as xGTT ratings. The Purdue Parties reserve all rights in the names and marks “Purdue,” “Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy,” and “xGTT,” and no license to those marks is granted except for accurate, non-misleading reference to the xGTT standard. All rights not expressly granted in these terms are reserved. The license granted in this Section 6 terminates automatically, without notice, if an Evaluator breaches these terms, and the Krach Institute may suspend or revoke any Evaluator’s license at any time; Sections 2 through 5 and 8 survive any termination.
7. Updates. The Krach Institute may revise xGTT at any time without notice. Evaluators are responsible for using the current version and for disclosing which version they applied.
8. Governing Law; Venue; Reservation of Immunities. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles and each Evaluate hereby consents to the jurisdiction of the Circuit and Superior Courts of Tippecanoe, County, Indiana as the exclusive venue relating to these Terms of Use. Nothing in these terms waives or limits any immunity, defense, or limitation available to Purdue University or any other Purdue Party under the Indiana Tort Claims Act or any other applicable law.
9. Required Non-Endorsement Disclosure. Every publication, report, press release, marketing material, website, presentation, social media post, or other communication by an Evaluator that includes an evaluation, rating, or score made using xGTT (each, an “Evaluator Communication”) must include a clear and conspicuous statement substantially as follows: “This evaluation was conducted independently by [Evaluator name] using the Global Trusted Tech Standard (xGTT), version 1.0. The Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy at Purdue, Purdue University, and their affiliates did not conduct, review, verify, approve, or endorse this evaluation and are not responsible for its content. This evaluation is not a substitute for independent due diligence and does not contain any legal, financial, investment, or other professional advice.”
10. General. The Krach Institute may update these terms at any time by posting a revised version, and continued download, access, or use of xGTT after posting constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. If any provision of these terms is held invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
